Common Words and Phrases in Latin:

Asking How Are You? in Latin

Quid agis? ➔ How are you? (singular)

Quid agitis? ➔ How are you? (plural)


Exchanging Names in Latin

Quid est nomen tibi? ➔ What's your name?

Quod nomen tibi est? ➔ What is your name?


Meum nomen est (name) ➔ My name is (name)

Nomen mihi est (name). ➔ My name is (name).


Asking Do You Speak Latin? / English?

Loquerisne Latine? ➔ Do you speak Latin?

Tu loqueris Anglice? ➔ Do you speak English?


Intellegisne? ➔ Do you understand?

Intellego. ➔ I understand.

Sodes, loquere paulo lentius. ➔ Please speak a little slower.
