Saying Hello and Goodbye in Mandarin

Ways to Say Hello in Mandarin

Nĭ hăo ➔ Hello

Hā luō ➔ Hello (informal, between friends)

Wéi ➔ Hello (informal, when answering the phone)

Wéi ni hao ➔ Hello (formal, when answering the phone)

Hěn gāo xīng rèn shí ni. ➔ Nice to meet you.


Timely Greetings in Mandarin

Zăo shang hăo ➔ Good morning

Xià wŭ hăo ➔ Good afternoon

Wăn shàng hăo ➔ Good evening

Wan ān ➔ Good night


Ways to Say Goodbye in Mandarin

Zài jiàn. ➔ Goodbye / See you again.

Zhàn shí zài jiàn. ➔ Bye for now.

Dāi huì jiàn. ➔ See you later.

Míng tiān jiàn. ➔ See you tomorrow.

Bái bái ➔ Bye bye

Zhù nĭ yú kuài. ➔ Have a nice day.
