English to Vietnamese Numbers and Counting
If you are looking to build on your Vietnamese language vocabulary when it comes to numbers, then this is the page for you. Below you will find a list of the numbers 1 to 29, presented from English to Vietnamese.
The first part of the translations will be in English, then you will find the modern Native Vietnamese (Quốc Ngữ) written with Latin letter. Next to the first ten translations you will find in (brackets) the older Chữ Nôm written with Chinese characters.
Quốc Ngữ is the modern form of Vietnamese writing which uses the Portuguese alphabet (consisting of Latin letters) and Chữ Nôm is the older way of writing Vietnamese numbers before Quốc Ngữ came into popularity in the 1920s. While Chữ Nôm is relatively obsolete in today's world, you may run into it in older publications, so I thought including a bit might also be interesting.
Finally, you'll find the numerical version for each number (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.), which can help you find the number you need at a quick glance.
Notes: Words in bold added during the last update. You can also view this list of Vietnamese numbers with translations from Vietnamese to English.
