Indonesian Family and People Words

Anda ➔ You (formal)

Kamu ➔ You (only used for friends and children)

Saudara ➔ You (used for brother/sister)


Saying He, She, We, and They in Indonesian

Dia ➔ He/She

Kita ➔ We (inclusive)

Kami ➔ We (exclusive)

Mereka ➔ They


Parents and Grandparents in Indonesian

Ayah ➔ Father

Bapak ("Pak") ➔ Father/Mr.

Ibu ("Bu") ➔ Mother/Mrs.


Kakek ➔ Grandpa

Nenek ➔ Grandma

Anak ➔ Children

Putra ➔ Son

Putri ➔ Daughter


Abang ("Bang" or "Bung") ➔ Older brother
